YUMA, Ariz- Today is day 8 of the trial for Rachel Spry- she is facing second degree murder charges in the case in which her three year old grandson shot himself with her gun.
The case agent assigned to the investigation was the last to take the stand this morning before closing arguments. He admitted in questioning the day of the incident- he told Spry she could have accidentally shot the child due to her mental condition and poor motor skills. The defense council noted a part of her written statement where she said I thought I put it out of reach. He also questioned blood patterns on the walls of the bathroom where the gun discharged, saying it shows inconsistencies in accusing spry of pulling the trigger.
Court continues at 9 a.m. Friday morning.
