YUMA, Ariz- Day seven of the trial just wrapped up for the case against Rachel Spry. The grandmother facing second degree murder charges in the case in which her three year old grandson shot himself with her gun. In court this morning, the most notable testimony is that of a Sprague’s Sporting Goods salesman who sold Spry the handgun that discharged, killing her grandson.
The prosecution presenting a strong case within that testimony as they showed forms Spry filled out prior to purchasing the gun. Her signature is visible on safety forms that explain the risks and safety precautions to take in order to prevent fatalities or the misuse of firearms. Also taking the stand this morning, was the father of that three year old boy who said in his testimony, “It was the worst day of my life.” Court resumes back on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at Yuma Superior Court.
