YUMA, Ariz. – Gila Ridge Hawks girls tennis was looking to blaze a brand new trail in program history. In a sense, they have. Taking two individual match wins by Kylie Wellard and Jessica Roth; who both won in straight sets.
This is the first time the Hawks have won matches in the playoffs ever. But, the letdown came when they fell short in the other five matches; still keeping the Hawks from getting their first ever playoff win as a team.
They fall to Sabino, five matches to two.
