SAN LUIS, Ariz. – The San Luis Police Department has a new chief who says he plans to continue working on strengthening relationships throughout the community.
He comes with more than 28 years of experience in law enforcement. Higgins says the department had some issues when he first took over.
“A lack of leadership in our department and right now we are in the process of restructuring the department,” said Craig Higgins.
Higgins says he does not plan to make any major changes to the department other than to be more community involved. He says that he plans to stay in San Luis for a long time and is committed to the city. He is also committed to continuing a great relationship south of the border.
“The fact is the citizens that come over from Mexico are very respectful for our community and they are apart of our community and visa-versa we go over there and they treat us. We have a very good relationship with the police department in San Luis Rio Colorado,” said Craig Higgins.
