YUMA, Ariz- The American Legion will be having a children’s Easter party on Saturday at 10 a.m. until noon.
Richard Perez who’s with the legion said, “We’re having our annual Easter party. It’s for our local, community and our military children and our veteran children of course.”
There will be many games, activities, train rides and an Easter egg hunt with a special surprise inside for each age group.
Perez said, “We’re going to have train rides, corn dogs, sodas, cookies and of course our ever famous egg hunt.”
The legion has been holding Easter parties for nearly 40 years with around 300-400 children with their moms and dads in attendance as well.
“It’s a community event not for American Legion members only or for military children but the community. We encourage anyone that’s been there to come back and new children in the area that have never been to our party to please come out because its a lot of fun,” said Perez.
This event is free and Perez wants everyone to come out not just military families but the whole community to enjoy the Easter fun.
Perez adds, “The American Legion’s focus is not only in helping veterans but in helping the community and we have four annual parties and Easter is one of them where we invite the community to see what the legion is all about.”
