YUMA, Ariz. – More than 11 businesses opened Monday morning with shattered or damaged windows from Sunday night.
The Yuma Police Department (YPD) estimates the total damage around $20,300. Similar cases reported to YPD from December 5th to January 6th resulted in damages totaling $24,240.
Kool Smiles, Sprint, Peter Piper Pizza, The Yuma Indoor Market, Yuma Main Library, DD’s Discount, Salvation Army, Big 5 Sporting Goods and a vacant building all reported their windows being damaged or shot out sometime over night.
YPD officials say they believe the damage is from someone shooting a BB gun.
Peter Piper Pizza General Manager Sabian Sanchez says his business was hit pretty hard.
“You drive by and it looks like we’re closed because of the damage,” said Sanchez.
Police do not have any suspects in this case. Anyone charged in Arizona with criminal damage for over $10,000 could be convicted with a class 4 felony.
