SOMERTON, Ariz. – Local business owners and community members are being asked to make smarter choices in the kitchen in an effort to bring diabetes numbers down.
Healthy Sister Cities is an initiative spear-headed by the Regional Center for Border Health (RCBH) that focuses on making greens more easily available for everyone.
One of the ways they are making that possible is by having “Farmers Markets on Wheels”, which is exactly what it sounds like.
On any given day you may see food trucks selling fruits and vegetables at different locations throughout Somerton.
But the effort doesn’t end there, RCBH is inviting food vendors to make healthy food choices a first option for customers at local eateries.
