
Arizona gets a C- for their state teaching policy and California even worse with a D.
The study done by the National Council on Teaching graded the state on delivering well prepared teachers, retaining effective teachers and exiting ineffective teachers to name a few.
The grades for Arizona and California have declined from 2013. We spoke with Yuma residents to see what they thought of the grade.
“If the teachers aren’t happy they are not going to here they are going to go somewhere else and we need good teachers so that our kids get better education,” Wilbert Gloor said.
“The kids are like our future and you want them to have a good education anywhere you go,” Anisha Martinelli said.
Arizona got the lowest grade a D- for teacher pension policies. While California flunked policies allowing schools to fire ineffective teachers.
