SAN LUIS, Ariz. – One man is in jail after U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers found 44 pounds of narcotics in his car.
It all happened Sunday at the San Luis port of entry, agents say the 23-year-old man was crossing through the port when a K-9 alerted to the man’s car. Officers sent him to secondary inspection where they say they found $131,000 worth of methamphetamine hidden in the car, weighing 44 pounds.
Officers seized the drugs and vehicle, and referred the suspect to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations. It’s not yet clear what charges he’s facing or how much time he may spend in jail.
