YUMA, Ariz. – A former Yuma Visitor Bureau (YVB) employee is suspected of misappropriating funds belonging to the non-profit organization.
A statement issued by YVB executive director, Linda Morgan, says the bureau found out about the mishandling of money on June 7th. YVB staff contacted the Yuma Police Department and the FBI to report the evidence found.
Morgan states the suspect had already been terminated from YVB for unrelated reasons before the mishandling of funds was reported.
The suspect’s name has not been released.
It is unknown at this point if YPD is investigating the report.
