
YUMA, Ariz. – Police officers tased a suspect who suffered self-inflicted injuries and was holding a knife.
Police say they got several calls about a man acting suspicious by Fourth Avenue and 20th Street by St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Thursday night.
When officers arrived on scene they ordered the man to drop his weapon. He did not listen to their commands and officers used a Taser to take him into custody.
Police officials say the suspect suffered self-inflicted wounds and is recovering at Yuma Regional Medical Center in stable condition.
The case is now under investigation.
