
YUMA, Ariz. – The Yuma Police Department said a boy was flown to a Phoenix hospital after he was struck by a truck Wednesday morning. YPD said the incident happened at Centennial Middle School, located at 2650 W. 20th St. in Yuma. Officers got the call at 6:44 a.m.
YPD said the initial investigation revealed a 13-year-old boy fell into the traffic lane where students are dropped off for school. The boy was then struck by a red Ford F150, driven by a 17-year-old girl who was dropping off a student. The boy was taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center and flown out to a Phoenix hospital in serious condition.
This case is still under investigation.
