YUMA, Ariz.-

Former Yuma Mayor Alan Krieger faces multiple felony charges after police say a victim claims Krieger pointed a gun in their direction.

Police say the incident happened February 29 around 11:45 in the morning off Madison Avenue.

“Until the resident came out a verbal argument between the two of them and then its alleged that Al Krieger displayed a hand gun and pointed it at the resident and then left the area,” Yuma Police Department Sgt. Lori Franklin said.

Police say they believe dogs barking in the neighborhood sparked the argument. The victim insists Krieger revved the engine of his car then pointed a gun. Now there’s an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge that Krieger denies.

“He does admit to the revving of the engine and he does admit to the argument. He does not say that he pointed a hand gun at anybody,” said Franklin.

ABC 5 reached out to Krieger to get his side of what happened but he declined to comment.

Krieger was not arrested in the incident but is set to appear in court April 29.
