YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona Corporations Commissioner (ACC) is in town to hear questions and concerns about water, power, and the economy in Yuma.

Commissioner Andy Tobin arrived Monday and will be part of a civic academy and a forum Tuesday and Wednesday. He says it’s important to hear what residents in rural Arizona have to say.

“There’s a lot that affects Yuma, there’s a lot that affects rural Arizona and we are just not in the heart of where those decisions get made,” Tobin said, “You have some great representation down here and I just think I’m part of that group that’s supposed to be down here representing our citizens here in Yuma County.”

Tobin says he would like to hear the voice of Yuma County residents on a number of issues.

There will presentations on water, power, and economic issues, as well as proposition 123 Tuesday and Wednesday at city hall. Tobin adds that he will virtually bring state representatives from Phoenix to city hall through a teleconference at the event.
