YUMA, Ariz.- Becoming your own boss, is a trend spreading nationwide, and business.com estimates that by the year 2020 more than 50 %, of all workers will be their own boss. Julie Capozzi, a small business owner in Yuma is apart of this movement, but Scammers are are now making harassing phone calls to owners.
Capozzi is one of those getting harrassed, she says the caller continued to be more aggressive on the phone,”but, had I not been in compliance the phone call the way it was worded was really a little bit insidious.” She adds, “because they preyed upon my fear that I didn’t know what was going on enough for the need to purchase this and it was a high dollar amount. I remember it was somewhere around eighty dollars.”

Yuma’s better business Bureau director Janet Torricellas says, these calls have been happening all through out the state of Arizona.
“Phone calls from representatives for an additional charge or tell them to wire money just so they can get a labor poster they need to keep in mind can be obtained for free by contacting the Federal trade commission of Arizona,” said Torricellas.
