Yuma car crash kills two women, driver survives

YUMA , Ariz.- Two local women are dead and another is wounded after  crashing into a pole early Sunday morning. Police say alcohol is a factor in the crash.

The crash happened at 1:32 AM nearth 8th Street and Castle Dome Avenue. Police say a white Toyota Corolla was traveling east on 8th street at Castle Dome Avenue when it hit a light pole. One of the passengers was dead at the scene and the other passenger later died after being taking to Yuma Regional Medical Center. The driver was also taken to YRMC and suffered minor injuries.

The passengers have been identified as 24-year-old Diana Torres and 41-year-old Miriam Ramos. The driver of the Corolla has been identified as 25-year-old Mayra Ramirez. Police say alcohol is a factor in the collision. A court date for Ramirez has not yet been set. We will keep you updated as information comes into our newsroom.
