YUMA, Ariz.-

Before 2 p.m. on Pacific Avenue by Yuma Palms mall, an 18-year-old driver was attempting to pass another vehicle who he believed was going too slow. The driver accelerated to pass the car but hit a curb, that’s when his vehicle rolled over into the middle of the road. Both the driver and 17-year-old passenger were stuck in the car but a man and his wife who were driving behind them left their truck and ran to help them. Haley Miller says she and her husband helped the driver get out of the car through the window. “My husband helped the driver through the window and the passenger looked like she had neck damage,” said Miller. Within minutes Yuma Police Department and Yuma Fire Department were at the scene. Both the driver and passenger were taken to Yuma Regional Medical center with non-life threatening injuries.

We are waiting to hear from police to find out their current conditions.

Nearly 100 car accidents have been caused in Yuma county for the month of December and drivers acting aggressively are adding to those numbers. Yuma police want to remind everyone to drive smart and not risk your life or others when wanting to drive aggressively.
