YUMA, Ariz- Friday afternoon members of the community along with our agricultural leaders took a tour around Yuma county to learn more about our AG in the Desert Southwest. A luncheon took place in Somerton where they discussed what needs to be changed and how they can educate the public.

County Supervisor, Russ Clark said,  “AG does a great job in this community to let everyone know what they do and why they do it and it’s important to know that, because they want their industry to continue and succeed and tell their own story.”

Guest speaker and Farmer David Sharp presented a speech at this afternoon’s lunch on behalf of the Wellton Mohawk area to dicuss what’s happening around agriclutire in Wellton.

Sharp said, “It’s a very efficient farming area. It’s a lot of technology is used and with that technology and rotation in crops and some changes in crops we have cut our water use and increased the effiency in the area.”

His main focus is to educate the public on what it takes to get the food to and from.
Sharp adds, “A lot of hard work and a lot of investment and a lot of technology and a lot of coorperation between many entities. Not only just the farmer but the marketers and the university research people.”
