YUMA, Ariz. – Rescue crews were able to remove a woman, a child and a pilot from a hot air balloon that crashed into some power lines in Yuma Friday. The incident happened by Avenue B and County 18th Street.
APS, Rural/Metro and the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office are at the scene.
No word on any injuries sustained.
It will likely take another one to two hours to get the balloon off the lines.
The balloons launched Friday from Arizona Avenue and 24th Street, as part of the Colorado River Crossing Balloon Festival, an event that draws thousands of people into the Desert Southwest.
