PHOENIX (AP) – The Arizona Board of Education is giving the public more time to comment on changes it may make to the state’s Common Core standards.

The board voted in April to reconsider the standards adopted in 2010 and now fully implemented. That vote came after Gov. Doug Ducey called for a review.

A committee has begun reviewing the math and English language arts and literacy standards and is taking public comments.

The new deadline for comments announced on Thursday is Nov. 20.

Comments can be given through a board website (https://k12standards.az.gov ) or mailed to the board.

County superintendents also plan to hold meetings to take comment. Dates have not yet been released.
