Yuma County Judge enters race for Arizona Supreme Court seat

YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona looks to fill a seat on the state’s Supreme Court and a Yuma County Superior Court one of nine applicants who say he’s right for the job.
Arizona Court of Appeals Division 1 Judge Andrew Gould dedicated 25 years of his life to the justice system. all but one year of that time was served as Prosecutor, trial judge, and superior court judge within the state of Arizona. Judge Gould last in 2010 for the Supreme Court seat. He says he continues to try for the job as it will serve as a new challenge while contributing an important role as the last resort decisions maker for the state.
“I’ve served in a rural county, I’ve done a lot of trial work and I’ve done a lot of criminal work which is a little bit unusual it’s a rare commodity on a Supreme Court, you don’t get a lot of people who have done a lot of criminal work. So I think I can add a lot with that experience,” said Judge Gould.
Judge Gould says his extensive experience in the justice systems various divisions will bring a new dynamic to the Arizona Supreme Court if selected by the Arizona.
